The accumulated experience  acquired by the facilitator Wole Adetiran, as the transitional Head of Department of Music and the founding Head of Department of Music Technology, The Polytechnic, Ibadan plus the administrative experience he had as the Dean of the largest Faculty on the Campus for four years, have undoubtedly been the main factor that has propelled his zeal in bringing these two lucrative programmes together under a unique operation.We are confident that he will be able to bring about important influences where necessary as the pioneer Rector of this great Higher institution of learning.

Goals and Objectives

The two programmes, Music and  Music Technology, have almost the same goal and objectives.

The National, Higher National Diploma and the  different certificate courses in both programmes have same unique intention of producing competent music diplomats and certificate holders with adequate theoretical and practical skills.

Music and Music Technology being a multi-dimensional academic subject, the programme has been designed to cover the different aspects of the discipline as highlighted in the tripartite (and inter-related) areas of performance, composition, musicology and a good remarkable percentage of Technology and Engineering.

For such diplomats, Job opportunities exist in educational institution the media (Print and Electronic) recording studios, religious institutions arts, and cultural councils/centres, the police and military, the film industry, professional performing groups fabrication of musical instruments/equipment such as: mixer, slaves, good speakers and others.

In additional, the academy, when fully established will become a big generating venture for itself through studio for cassette, video jingle and others. It will also service the general public.
